Job Description

As our Events & Programme Coordinator you will report directly to our Head of Creative Programmes. Your role will focus on the supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of an inspiring programme of events, projects and residencies at our home, The Art House. This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is looking to get full exposure within the inner workings of a creative studio and the developmental stages of a multi-disciplinary event space.


This is an 80 hour per month role, salary paid pro-rata, working flexibly around our events calendar which you will help to facilitate. 


You will be….

  • Coordinating and delivering on The Art House events and programme, end-to-end with the support of the Head of Creative Programmes

  • Day-to-day oversight of special projects and our artist residencies at The Art House

  • Acting as liaison on behalf of The Art House to artists, clients, guests and exhibitors

  • Provide assistance with in-house AV, exhibition installation and maintaining the workshop area and artist bay

  • Providing support to Head of Creative Programmes on communication with all clients and partners, where needed 

  • Building of proposals and offerings for clients interested in hiring The Art House

  • Administration related to clients interested in hiring The Art House

  • Management of team of contracted events staff and third-party suppliers

  • Participate in creative and strategic meetings regarding The Art House long-term programme and offering

  • Create and develop event processes and ensuring these are followed, e.g. call sheets etc

  • Ensuring that all parties adhere to the relevant health and safety requirements, and insurance regulations

  • Expected to lift, move and store furniture and other items when our venue transforms for events

  • Involved in the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions in our gallery space


Qualification

You must have…

  • You’ll be super personable as this is a client-facing role in a community-driven workplace - previous experience in the hospitality, events or art industry is preferable 

  • You’ll be able to work independently, to organise and prioritise your workload when running events

  • You’re a self-starter willing to adapt to and complete a wide variety of tasks, in a role where no two days are the same.

  • You’re operationally minded, being extremely thorough and organised

  • The right person for the role will need to be enthusiastic and be able to take their own initiative, no task too big or small to take on as the role evolves.

  • You’ll be an integral part of the wider Acrylicize Studio team, with a true team player attitude 

  • You’re comfortable working 80 hours a month minimum, that will fluctuate month to month depending on what’s required within the events calendar

  • You’ll be able to display a knowledge and a passion for the arts, design and creativity

Nice to haves…

  • The ideal candidate would be proficient in using Adobe Creative suite and Google suite tools

  • The ideal candidate would be a hands on problem solver that is comfortable using tools and carrying out light handy work and maintenance around the venue, gallery space or artist bay 

  • Exhibition install and deinstall experience
